Founded by Pauline de Villiers Brettell, Tea in Tangier started off as her musing about a remote part of north of Morocco. Nowadays, Pauline works with interior designers sourcing textiles and carpets directly for them. With her background in interior design, Pauline is on hand throughout the creative process.

When it comes to the woven or bespoke order products, the process involves specifying design requirements and samples for any colour matching.

Apart from Tea in Tangier, Pauline also runs TINT Shawls, locally produced colourful shawls and scarves available for purchase through Tea in Tangier website or Etsy shop.

Pauline works with local merchants and craftsmen who are passionate about traditional textiles and woven techniques going back centuries. She also does a lot of work with women weavers of a local Co-operative and charity, who provides education and training to vulnerable women and children.
