ABOUT THE ARTIST
Colette LaVette is a sustainable painter, sculptor and textile artist, exploring human creation and our place on earth. That being sometimes conflicting and other times harmonious. LaVette has travelled the world, which strongly influences her work alongside design principles learnt at university and beyond. She seeks to create beautiful, honest depictions that add to the earth rather than take from it.
LaVette uses sustainable, cruelty free oils that she mixes herself from natural minerals such as iron oxide with linseed oil. These are applied to surfaces made of hemp, bamboo and organic cotton canvas, all of fine art archival quality. LaVette has exhibited numerous times in locations around London and has appeared twice in Home & Garden Magazine's Art Edit. Her work is in collections in London, Paris and Hong Kong to name a few and many of her pieces are commissioned.
